LEGACY OF R.L. MOORE CONFERENCE

Date: April 17-18, 1998
Location: Thompson Conference Center, University of Texas at Austin.

Participants

Agenda

A number of former students provided personal stories about R.L. Moore, some of which may be added to the site in the future.

A potential biography was considered. Several projects were identified and further proposals that could be supported are being sought.

Debate over topics associated with a video documentary of Moore's life and teaching was lively. Possible outlets mentioned were A&E, PBS, and BBC. There was also debate over whether the targeted audience should be more general than mathematical.

An audio interview was done with William Eaton, and film interviews were done with John Worrell, John Neuberger, Richard Anderson, Ed Burgess, Ben Fitzpatrick, Judy Kennedy, Bill Mahavier, Howard Cook, Bruce and June Treybig, JoAnne Baker and Jim Cornette, Gary Richter, Don Tucker, Michael Proffitt, Reg Traylor, Steve Armentrout, Lida Barrett, and James Younglove.
